the si Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Hi guys I really need some help. I am using Autocad 2000. I cant wblock or copy and paste from a set of drawings I have received from a certain source. I can do it with any other drawings I have. When I wblock then go OK no new file is created and copy and paste doesnt work either. The system the drawings have come from uses 2006lt I think. I have been a cad user for many years so Ive checked all the obvious things like locked layers etc. can anyone help because I have a load of frames I want to copy. thanks Quote
ReMark Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 There is a known problem involving drawings that are created or editted in 2007 and saved to a 2000 file format. There's a hotfix at the AutoDesk website. Quote

the si Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 ok ive just received more drawings from them and still cant copy and paste or wblock in or out of them. Im not sure that they have done the correct thing with the hotfix. Do they just need to run the exe file?? Quote
ReMark Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Did you verify what version of AutoCAD they are using? Quote
the si Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 Yes They are using 2006lt and 2007 full version. As far as I know they have used the hotfix for both versions. I will double check exactly what they have done and get back to you. Quote
eldon Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I too have a client who appears not to have time to apply the hot-fix, so there is an easy way round this. Start a new drawing from scratch. Insert the troublesome drawing into it as a block, then explode the block. Copy/Paste and Wblock now works. Quote
