ashfaqami Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 how to set drawing limits in autocad 2008? what is the use of limit command? Quote
ReMark Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 One way is to type LIMITS at the command line and supply the required information at the prompts by AutoCAD. Limits establish your drawing area. Quote
ReMark Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I must correct one previous statement re: Limits. This is taken from your AutoCAD Help file: Limits "Sets and controls the limits of the grid display in the current Model or layout tab." Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 One way is to type LIMITS at the command line and supply the required information at the prompts by AutoCAD. Limits establish your drawing area. That is the way I have done it for years. Click for lower left corner and click for upper right corner. Then give a ZOOM, ALL and it ought to show off what you got then. To alter again, just do not save, or try LIMITS once again. Alter to your hearts content then. Wm. Quote
tzframpton Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I haven't used LIMITS since my last introductory college course. hehe Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Mark is pretty sharp on this matter. It is just he is a poor explainer. Knows it, but can't say it. Don't forget to use LIMITS when plotting too. Wm. Quote
ReMark Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I'd be able to explain better if my foot wasn't always caught in my mouth. Occupational hazard. Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I tend to use the same old dozen commands over and over again each week. Week-in and week-out. Thus set set into my ways. You must "invite" trouble and look to use a few of the seldom used routines (commands) on occasion. See if they work as advertised or not. See if any of the older ones work as they used to and do this via hand. Years ago got on to such a routine with another software vendor. Sent them a note that one of their functions did not work as advertised and nothing like Acad. Got message back, yep I was right, it shall be corrected, but, but, but, ... future version was being copied to disk at the moment. Too late to fix now. Then years later on, I find same old-same ol. Then by this time they found it they were off on to "next" version and had forgot to fix it, and.... that lasted maybe five-ten years. Doubtful they ever fixed it. Just keep on trying things and see that they work as envisioned. I have hard time trying to understand some troubles reported here anyway. I think most folks do not go to school, and do not know how to write, nor what version tehy are working from. Duh, Oh, there is a pull-down that will tell me this? Wm. Quote
