Why, why, why????

How come when I use Acrobat Distiller it now merges all my PDF's into one file when using publish in AutoCAD.

I have cutePDF (free version) but this requires a prompt for filename.

Essentially, what I'm looking for is (something for nothing basically) a free PDF converting tool that will not prompt for filename of document (just use the last x amount of characters of current filename) and will not merge all the PDF's into one document.

I thought the DWF options for publish may be affecting it. But I tried single and multi-sheet, both without success.

Cheers

Have you tried PUBLISHCOLLATE = 0?

(with your Adobe print driver I mean)

I believe that's only for AutoCAD 2010. The best thing to use is AcroPlot Pro. Yeah, it's expensive but it works magic. It will literally solve all your PDF problems, not to mention all other popular image formats.

Cheers chaps. That could well be my problem, unless it's the system variable that is controlled by the DWF single/mult-sheet field in the publish options.

Thread will be updated for future reference.

Amen, brother. My prayers have been answered. It was indeed the PUBLISHCOLLATE setting.

Add it to the list of drinks owed.

...or so I though. I fix one problem and now I move on to the next.

Acrobat Distiller has now decided that it will name all drawings the same. So i t truncates 10.001, 10.002 and so on. It tries to save them all as just 10. Therefore, as soon as the first one is saved, the next one will attempt to be overriden.

What a faff. Any know much about this?

StykFace,

Does this software retain the original filename of the drawings it is converting? Does it give options about the outpute filename?

Is it possilbe to publish a set of drawings and each one will become an individual PDF with the same name as the CAD file?

Hahahah. He's right, folks.

I strongly encourage everyone who has PDF'ing needs to download the free trial of Acroplot.

Brilliant.

Cheers Stykface.
