woodman78 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Hi, I am setting up procedures for CAD in my office at the moment. I would like some help with a few things though. Would appreciate any thoughts. **Rev** If I start working on a drawing with say 5 tabs in it. As I work I issue the drawings but then one of them needs to be changed, reved up and re-issued. How do people name the file then. I had the idea that my original file would be say L2492-LA.dwg and the reved up one would be L2492-LA - Rev1.dwg. The problem is that only some of the drawings are at rev 1. I don't want to divide the layouts into separate drawings. **Issued Drawings** When people issue drawings do they generally use eTransmit to keep a dwg record of the file themselves or is it only a dwf/pdf copy that they keep themselves. We are having this discussion at the moment. Thanks.. Quote
AJSmith Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 are your drawing a series or different?? i work in road design so if i had more than one road marking drawing i would have each drawing on a tab so would save the drawing RM/01-02-03 for road marking draws one to five so if 2 was reved i would then have RM/01-02A-03 Quote
woodman78 Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Thanks for that but what do you do when you send out the first one without any rev. Do you just take a pdf copy or do you save out a full dwg with bound xref's?? Quote
