Kat Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Hi Everyone, I just switched over to AutoCAD 2010 at one of my jobs and I have the files saving to 2007 as a default because a lot of the other computers don't have the newer versions. When I change somethings and save, it says that it is unable to save to that version. I am not doing anything in 3d or any special commands. No matter what version I save under, it still says it can't do it. I will try to copy the exact wording later, if no one has any idea. I hope this makes sense! Thanks! Quote
ReMark Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 First thing that comes to mind is when you switched over to 2010 did you download and install Update 1? Quote
Kat Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 The IT people installed everything on there for me, but I will check to see if they did the updates. Thank you! Quote
ReMark Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 IT (shudders). Type the word About at the command line. On the pop-up window that appears click on the Product Information button. Info you're looking for should be on next screen. Quote
Kat Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Everything said it was up to date for the version. The error message reads "One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created." Like I said, no matter what version of AutoCAD I try to save down to, that's the message I receive. Any other ideas? Thank you! ^_^ Quote
ReMark Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I'd be willing to take a look at the drawing tomorrow (Thursday) if you'd like. Quote
Kat Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 That would be great, except for the fact that it does it with a few different files... I had a computer that started going crazy so I got a newer, better one. Some of my files got corrupted. These ones are good, it just won't let me make any changes to them. I can open them and print them though. I'm thinking maybe the corrupt computer that I used to use on them maybe caused this problem? Quote
ReMark Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 You can try the RECOVER command on the corrupted drawings. I'll PM you tomorrow morning with my email address. All I need is a representative drawing. Got to go now as my day started at 3 a.m. Caio. Quote

ReMark Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 daniel: You mis-read the post. I was asking Kat to send me one of her files so I could take a look at it on my computer. Please state the exact nature of the problem you are experiencing and provide details regarding your hardware setup and what software you are using. Thank you. Quote
