:shock:I know there has to be an answer for this… I have exhausted all my creative ideas… I used to work for an architectural firm that already had this all set up for us…go figure! My problem is:

I have several different sheet sizes/layout tabs in my dwg. I need to keep at least 11X17, 24X36, 36X48 because I work on large floor plans and sometimes on smaller areas. Each layout tab has its own title block. Ok…here is what annoys me… For example: Lets say I am working on a 24X36 layout, but I need it to print to scale on a 11X17, I do the window, scale to fit, etc, but the title block and the whole print itself does not appear like the normal 11X17 layout tab. Ugh…does this make sense? Perhaps I can send pdf files explaining my problem, it’s really easy to see a drawing vs. explaining.

Thanks

I do process piping and instrumentation diagrams for a small specialty chemical company. Our latest tank farm project has a series of 10 P&IDs that the engineer wanted the option to print on 8.5x11, 11x17, 18x24 and 24x36. This was easily accomplished by creating four layouts in each P&ID. Each layout has its own viewport which is scaled accordingly. Each layout also has its own title block and border designed to fit the sheet size the drawing will be printed to. After setting the first of these up the other 9 were a snap.

Thanks for the post and tip...I have started to do this, but I still work in a lot of existing dwg's that have not been set up like this...it's just a huge mess, and I think it's annoying to fill out all the titleblocks...
