AutoCAD 2009 Profiles

Hi

I have loaded my profile into my newly installed autocad but every time I load up AutoCAD it defaults back to the original AutoCAD profile and I have to go to tools, profiles and pick my one.

Is there a way I can get it to load my own profile as the default?

Yes that's what I do each time.

Computers are dumb. Find the location of the profiles. Rename the original acad profile something obvious like original_autocad_profile. Then rename your profile as the acad profile. It should load then.

I have done a search and I can only find my custon .arg file.

Do you know where the autocad.arg would be saved?

I have another suggestion. Look at this previous thread about what appears to be the same problem you are facing. Scroll down to the advice given by Cad64 and read what he has to say. Then check your AutoCAD shortcut icon properties as recommended.

I had the same problem, kept editing my profile, getting it right where I wanted it, every restart of AutoCAD would require a trip to tools - options - load profile.

Turns out the icon had > listed as the profile. One thing to be aware of: I had problems with spaces in the profile path and filename.

Be sure to save a copy of the profile that you load with a different filename and keep it up to date. I've reverted to my backup copy several times when AutoCAD makes seemingly random changes and I don't want to spend the time figuring out how to undo them.
