rosdave Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Hi guys! Im new to Autocad, but im a quick learner!! The question ive got is: is it possible to display x, y, z, information beside a point on the model?? I'll explain myself a bit better. I'm a Engineering Surveyor for a construction company, and i regularly do on site surveys with total stations. The software I use to put this information together is Topcon CivilCAD, which is a surveying program. Each point I take can be put on a drawing with certain information displayed beside the cross (point) on the drawing ie. Easting (x) Northing (y) or more importantly Height (z). The problem ive got is when i email the dwg file back to head office, so they can print my survey out on nice sized A1 paper, they've only got Autocad 2009 to open the file, and I'm the only one who has any clue as to use CAD! All piont values are transfered correctly, but I cant figure out if there's a way to get Autocad to display the height (z) information beside the point, like you see on topographical drawings. Printing off a big drawing covered in crosses is not much good for our QS!!!! Any info or help from you guys would be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!! David. Quote
eldon Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I can't quite understand that if you can put the z information displayed by the point and save the drawing in AutoCAD format, why can't your QSs see it? Does Topcon CivilCAD put this information as blocks with attributes, or is it selfish and doesn't do sharing of data? You really should be asking Topcon. Quote
