martyy Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Hi folks, I am doing some drawings for planning, I seem to be having real trouble plotting them. I have drawn at full size in model space with the drawing set up at 1-200, there are several object on the drawing at other scales but that's OK. I have set the limits for ISO A1 and in model space with grid on the drawing fills the available paper space, however when I go in to a layout or even try to plot from model space the plot is a tiny blot on the paper. I cannot think what I have done wrong but its driving me mad Any clues 100% Self taught since R13 I think I will be a beginner forever! Cheers Martyn Quote
Tankman Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Cheers Martyn! Where are you posting from? I'm not sure of what you're doing, let's see what the "pro" forum members come up with! I might think, print to "extends", but, I always print to *.pdf and/or laser printers, 8 1/2 x 11 (don't use a plotter). *.pdf's are used for email. Quote

Cheers Martyn First step, go to File > Page Setup Manager and make sure you have your paper set up correctly, ie Paper Size set to A1, Plot scale set to 1:1, Plot Area set to Layout. This is based on how I do this, there are other ways. After that, go to your Layout and create a Viewport with the MVIEW command. There are many ways to set the scale on the Viewport, the easiest for me is to bring out the Viewports-toolbar (rightclick on the grey area next to your toolbars, under ACAD you find, and tick Viewports). Highlight the Viewport and in the Viewports toolbar there is an area where you can type your scale. Hope this helps you. Quote
martyy Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 Cheers for that I am not sure what is happening I seem to have everything set correctly but I still get undersized plots, I have two what seem identical drawings one plots perfect and the other produces this small plot. I'm posting for the UK. Cheers Martyn Quote
Tiger Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 If you measur how big the drawings are in Layout (command DIST), are they the same size? Are they about 840x590 (A1)? Quote
