phillyphantom Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I am not new to AutoCAD but I am new to ADT. Well I did get training in college and havn't used it since. So basically I have forgotten it. So I am sorry for the stupid question but I was wondering why when I assign a color (material) to a wall, it looks how I want it in model space but when I render the building all my colors look quite lighter from what I want. I am also using cultured stone from StoneCad but again when I render it looks much lighter and not what I want. Is this something to do with lighting. I am just using default lighting right now as I am not finished my building and havn't changed that. Thanks, any help is appreciated. I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2008 Quote

I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2008 You want to apply the materials to the Wall Styles, and not to the physical object in Modelspace. To do this, type WALLSTYLE at the command line, select the Wall Type under the Wall Styles list, then go to the Materials tab, and apply the material to the Component. As for Lighting, yes you want to add a light, and turn off the default lighting (it will prompt you when you create a light). You can add preset photometric lights from the Tool Palettes, that have a great output. Also, research This Thread for help with a higher quality rendering output. Hope this helps you some. Quote
phillyphantom Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 Alright thanks, I will give that a go. Quote
phillyphantom Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Well I tried what you said but I am stil having the problem. I attached two pictiures. One of model space (left) and the other is the render (right). The render is much lighter. Quote

The render is much lighter. play around with your render exposure, your time of day settings, and sky settings. All three need to be in balance to produce good results. Quote
