Skeeps Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 got some jpgs attached to my cad drawing like xrefs, but is there a way I can kind of bind them so I don't have to send all the jpgs as seperate files along with my cad drawing? Quote
dbroada Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I've not found one. One thing to be carefull of if you don't find a way is ENSURE they are no path or at worst, relative path. DO NOT have absolute path else the recipient could be looking on your server for the files. Quote
Galingula Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Here's what I do... I open the JPG in a graphics program. From that program I cut it. I paste it into the DWG. When I click its frame it lists itself as "embedded". When I share the file with others they get the JPG. AA 2008 Quote
dbroada Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 the only graphics program I have is "paint". When I try your method I do indeed get something that lists as "embedded" but it only views as a white box. Have I missed something? Quote
Skeeps Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 bang on, When Dave made that post I started thinking that maybe I was trying to do it the wrong way, so I started looking at ole insert, yet everytime I try it from Acad it inserts (even if I click the radio box not to ) as an icon. I tried your way Galingula and it worked. Stupid thing is I've done this before and forgotton how to do it. Thanks my lovlies! Quote
dbroada Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 must just be me that can't get it to work. Quote
Tankman Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Open 'Paint', open desired image, save as a bitmap image. Leave paint open. Minimize the Paint screen. Go back to AutoCAD, insertobj . If we peek-a-boo at the Image Mgr., we won't see any image listed but, the image is indeed on/in the *.dwg file. Don't know is I described all but, I'll try and if, any questions arise, will reply.
