I have a big "AS BUILT" job coming along soon and am doing the ground work. Basically all our files are being renamed and the drawing will have to reflect the file name change.

In itself this is not too big a problem as the 2 of us who did most of the work used the filename field so a quick renumber using DOS will get most of the drawings sorted very quickly.

However, there are still a significant number that haven't yet used fields so I was going to script that part. The problem being the field code. I want to insert the following

%%

but when I do, something (AutoCAD?) changes the 2 to a 7 and I get the full path and extension. I don't want to go in manually to change this. Does anybody know WHY it is changing, and more importantly, how to keep it reading 2?
