I am a 3'rd year landscape architecture student at Penn State and I am trying to create a dynamic block to help assist me in my Grading Projects. I would like to take a simple line, and (Through the array tool) offset this line as many times as is needed by selecting and dragging the parameter constraint. The problem lies in that i would like to be able to change my offset distance using the the 'Lookup parameter' [eg: offset distance of 10', 20', 25', 50', 100' (or 1-10% slope in plan view with 1' contour lines)]

I have created the block with everything except the ability to change my offset distances

Thank you in advance!!

I hath just tried and failed can't get the array distance to change!

Any body else?

I've tried a few things. The most promising thing so far is:

-Create another distance parameter (to a known Distance: ex 10')

-Create A Scale With the new Distance Parameter and select the everything else for the action (All other parameters included)

-Load the new Distance Parameter into the 'Lookup Table' and create a new set of values (Ex 10', 20', 50', etc)

»»»This will scale everything to the selected distance in both Axies

Problems:

-Scales in both x and y axis of the line

-Scales the Selection bar for the Array command (Changes the location of it and it becomes lost fairly easily)

I think you are left with the old Array command.

I recently learned on this site an MCOPY lisp which might be modified to suit your requirement? However I have no idea when it comes to lisp so I can't help any further than that- just run a search.
