Hi All:

I have an older version of AutoCAD i am able to install on to my laptop from my boss he has given me AutoCAD 2005, but when i install it I get an error message saying my software is not compatable with AutoCAd 2005. He finally gave in and let me install an old version but now it doesnt work... OH THE FRUSTRATION!!

I have a new laptop i just got it 2 weeks ago when my desktop crapped out on me, so I have windows 7, has anyone else experiences a problem with CAD 2005 and Windows 7? would Vista work for CAD 2005?

Thanks for the help!

Win7 and AutoCAD 2005? I think that might be pushing it. You might have better luck with Vista and 2005 but that's not going to happen without a little tweaking.

Well that blows! I just got a new home super computer with Vista 64 (free Win7 upgrade on the way), and much to my dismay my Acad 2005 version won't run.

I use '05 almost exclusively. '05 is my best friend!

M$ Windows XP Pro, SP3, works fine. Wouldn't think of movin' on, upgrading. Too much, too much to worry about. Ouch! :glare:

You shouldn't be surprised by this. Autocad 2005 is a 32 bit application.

Well in all honesty I did not really realize or know the differences between a 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. I figured I'd just get the latest and greatest system, and assumed that everything would work or be able to dumb it down if needed.

C'est la vie!

I'm trying out 2010 at home now, wow does it look different. Anyone happen to know if all the customization from my 2005/2007 versions at work can be 'plugged' into this 64bit version of 2010?
