really light cross hairs

At some point while working today my crosshairs turned a really like gray, in options the color selected for them is white, it doesnt matter what color i change it to it remains a really light gray. Any ideas how i got it this way or how to change it?
edit: closing and opening acad mep 2010 doesnt help either

Try to change to different color and back.

doesnt help they stay the same light gray

closed and opened autocad again and now they are back to white... weird
