RAO HASSAN Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 hi.....i want to create mirror material in aca 2010....i followed the instructions followed previously in a thread and that was to do following.... 1. Open your Materials palette and create a new material 2. Under "Type" choose "Realistic Metal" 3. Under "Template" choose "Mirror" 4. Now go back to "Type" and choose Advanced 5. Set both your "Ambient" and "Diffuse" colors to black 6. Set your "Reflection" slider to 100 I followed the tut that listed above...all i get is black object. when i render it..i dont see that black object...i followed exactly step by step..any input will be appreciated. also if any one can help me with see through glass with realistic look..i dont want to use the current glass material that aca has..i followed almost all the tut posted on cadtutor but no luck... Randolph Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Did you turn on ray tracing? Normally with renderers, you have to turn on ray tracing both with the light and in the render globals to see reflections. Quote

Cad64 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Ray Tracing should be on by default, unless you disabled it? Type RPREF at the command line to open your rendering preferences. Then scroll down to the Ray Tracing section. In the other "How to create a Mirror" thread, you said you were able to get the mirror working though, right? Quote
