nicolas Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Hi, I will like to get the maximum automation process for drawing architectural building that help getting the maximum out of repeated task ... Tables, Viewport Configuration, Blocks, Dimensioning to name but a few. Thank you in advance, Nicolas MARIE. Quote
ReMark Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 The best automation comes from creating LISP or VBA routines specific to the tasks you encounter in your work, day in and day out. Quote
nicolas Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Thank you. The only problem is that I know not 1 thing about either autoLISP and VBA for now. I do have an elementary of Visual Basic but I do believe that VBA is just abother thing. Quote
f700es Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Well the good thing is that there are thousands of lisp and VBA routines out there for AutoCAD. I see you are using AutoCAD, one good way to speed up your process is to use AutoCAD Architecture (used to be called Architectural Desktop). With this you do not draw lines you place walls, door and windows. Intersections cleanup, walls cut for doors and windows. Door and window schedules are easier to control. There are also some 3rd party architectural add-on applications for plain AutoCAD. Most you must buy but there might be some that you can demo. As for process I would always draw my floor plans in one file and save that as the base file and then xref this into the master file so I could use it as the base for the other drawings (electrical, foundation, whatever). This way if I needed to make changes I only had the make 1 change to the base file and then the xrefs would update. This was my process for single family residential though. Good luck. Quote
einstainas Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 use revit for archittecture if you are architect. Dont invent bike... Quote
