Ok guys, I can't figure out how to fix this one. AutoCad 2008

I have a drawing (3dish-it's really a 2d map with elevations) everything I reference into it, shows up at the right spot. It is in World UCS, it had 2 named views that have since deleted. It is at a scale of 1 & unitless. I made a direct copy of the drawing, and referenced the original back in so I could not disrupt the original contours. Here is the problem. The drawings were drawn in and should reference to state plane (2XXXXXXXXX, 19XXXXXXXXX) but when I reference in the original drawing, it shows up at (250, 9000). Mind you, UCS = World, Origin = 0,0,0.. When I referenced the drawing the insertion point is 0,0,0. The scale is 1 (and uniform) and there is no rotation. The drawing itself is at the exact same scale, just waaaaay out of range. Help... if you need more info I'd be happy to tell you.
