How come does the same hatch (same pattern, scale, angle and spacing) in two different dwg files look different? (The units in the dwg files are the same)

To be precise, the scale is different - when measured the spacing between the pattern lines of the hatch is not the same (measuring in units of the dwg file).

I really hope that I did make myself clear and that someone has the solution for my problem... thanks

hatch can have an annotative scale attached to it since hatch can be an annotative object. can't really tell just with your explanation so it could prove to be a good thing to post the two files so me or anyone else can answer you with 100% certainty to what they're saying

as far as i know it has nothing to do with anntation scale becaus eit has been happening since i was using acad 2002. i haven't had recently have this problem so have not tried but recently i came to know about 'insunits' & it has influence on many things so i would suggest to check value of 'insunts' in both the drawings

thanks rocneasta, for the reply, but you could have just said where can I change these annotative characteristics of the hatch (if this is indeed the problem,... and if it is possible to alter them in a way to resolve this issue)

Thank u

the insunits value is the same in both of the files (4) - mm, as I have already said ;)

anyway, the annotative scale is not the issue, cause i'm using autocad 2007

If the disparity is of the order of 25.4 times check your MEASUREMENT and MEASUREINIT settings in the two drawings.

it is very hard to know what is the problem. Are you sure that it is in fact the same Hatch? Perhaps one is from the ACAD.lin, one is from ACADISO.lin? Do you have any custom lin-files? Can this come from that? Where are you mesuring? Are these two blocks that you have imported? Are they from x-refs? Are you measuring in the original DWGs? Can you upload any example here?

You are using 2007, but your profile says 2006 - please update it.
