I've tried it by keeping the road fixed and rotating the wheel,but don't kno whr I am going in right direction regard to analysis part.... So my question is : What analysis can be done on Solidworks on a rotating object wrt a fixed object? Quote
shift1313 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Which version of cosmos do you have? Is this for some project where the part will not actually be made or is this planned for production? To perform a motion analysis on your wheel you will need other components. Specifically something for the wheel to rotate on. I dont really see any benefit to analyzing the wheel in motion though. If you start an analysis i would think the best thing to do is hold the center fixed. This will depend on how the rim was designed. If its a concentric mount, meaning it has a tight fit with a lip on the spindle, or if the lugs will actually be taking the load. You have the ability to produce a somewhat realistic model I believe. If you model a tire, road surface etc you can do a motion study simulating friction between the tire and "road" while driving the wheel with a torque. During a motion study I believe you can export a component for stress analysis using current mates/forces. I havent tried this before though. Quote
