Need to draw in meter 1:1

This is the first time I use autocad so don''t blame me for asking this question:

I'm using the 'distance tool' on a drawing. When I have set the starting and ending point, i get a result in inches.

I need to get an result in meter.

Where can I change this?

type units on the command line and change the units to meters
