mgiragosian1 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Hi i am just curious as to the programs the pros use to design and map out bedrooms or interior designs in 3d. Could you tell me the basic function of autocad 10, autocad architecture 10 and 3ds max. Thanks! Quote
ScribbleJ Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Basic function of AutoCad is to draw lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, etc to create a drawing concept or design. 3DS Max is pretty much the same except you work with solid forms to create a 3 dimensional model of a concept or design. Thats the basics in a nutshell. Quote
AlinOz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Thats the basics in a nutshell. Perhaps it should also be pointed out that those Lines, Circles and Arcs can be tied together in a 'Block' (such as a Bed) for reuse in other drawings - that's what really makes a difference from a drawing done on a Drafting Board. Lots more than that too, but there are the basics in a bigger nutshell Quote
mgiragosian1 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 can you load those autocad lines into 3ds max to help create your 3d image? does 3d max basically take the autocad design and turn it into 3d? Quote
iskalipsi Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 do you mean export from autocad to 3ds max? Quote

Yes you can through a DXF file. If memory serves me well I think you can open up a DWG file with 3DS Max but I could very well have that mixed up with another program. Quote
