illyas Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Hi guys, Is there any way to have different dimension types on seperate layers. Eg. Layer 1 is in Inches and Layer 2 is in milimeters. How do i go about doing that? Quote
Glen Smith Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Dead simple. Set up a different Dimension style for each unit that you want to dimension in. Add dimensions to the parts that you want dim'd and set them to the dimension style you want by selecting them by layer and changing dim style. We just went over this in my "Beyond the Basics" class Tuesday. The instructor has a drawing with aproximatly 25 different Dim styles set up and displaying in one drawing. Everything from feet, inches, to dimensions by CMU or bricks. (This wall is 30 CMU's long.) Dims by stud bays was another one that I found interesting. There is also an ALTERNATE UNITS option for your dimension styles, so you could set up one dim style that would show Play around with them. Glen Quote
