danmaus Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I have drawn a somewhat complex or busy main plate with all features and sketches based around center of plate. When accessing part today to update with changes I discovered many of the sketches are no longer on centerline of part. I tried using coincident constraint to bring back but will not recognize or pick origin. I also tried dimensioning to centerpoint but it will only pick what is now center of sketch and not pick actual origin. Very confused at times by Inventor and wonder if others struggle or is it lack of proper training? Quote
MarkFlayler Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Is your origin projected? If not, use Project Geometry and then select the Center Point. From there use your coincident constraint. Remember if the CP is visible that does NOT mean it is referenced; it has to be projected. Quote
JD Mather Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 ... or is it lack of proper training? Slight differences - go through both of these - http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/AU2006/MA13-3%20Mather.pdf http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/AU2007/MA105-1L%20Mather.pdf Quote
