cadmatic Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Using autoCAD 2009. I have searched for this problem and could not locate the answer. I am trying to locate specific text in a drawing using the "find" tool. "Find" locates the text OK, Then when I close the dialog box, the view zooms out and I lose the location of the text. earlier vervions which I have used did not zoom out. Is there a way to locate text and stay zoomed to it, in the drawing? I also tried Quick select/text/content/"text I am searching for", to highlight the text and the highlight/grip is too small to see in a large drawing. Is there a way to zoom to the selected text? What is the best way to locate text objects in a large drawing? What tools/commands should I be exploring. Thanks in advance for your time. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 As soon as you've run qselect, (do not deselect anything or press the esc key) go straight in to the zoom command by typing Z on the command line, and then type in O on the command line, it should zoom in to your text Quote
alanjt Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Are you escaping out of Find or clicking close? I've used Find (in 2009) and found exactly what I needed, and it stayed where it zoomed. Quote
cadmatic Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Zoom/object work with only one object selected, otherwise it had problems. I have tried closing and escaping "find", Neither work for me. Maybe a switch setting? Quote
rkent Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I believe this was a bug fixed in a SP. Do you have the latest Service Packs installed? Quote
cadmatic Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Thanks, I'll check on the service pack situation with IT. Quote
