andyr74 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I use autocad often at work but this is in 2D. Now I started to draw my house in 3D. Just to learn 3D drawing. Years ago I used autocad with 3D a bit. I also want to attached a material to the walls. What I dit so far: I drew the walls as solids. The windows and doors are cut-outs. I attached a material to the floors and some walls. But for some walls I need 2 materials. An interior wall needs a material on the left side and another on the right side. Evey time I attach a material it is attached on the whole solid. So, how can attached a material on only one side of the wall? Quote
Cad64 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Hold the Ctrl key while clicking on the face where you want the material to be applied. This will place the material only the face you select. You can then apply different materials to the other faces using this same method. But make sure you don't use the first material slot in the material editor. That is a global material which Autocad uses as its default when creating new objects. So if you place a material in that first slot, it will be applied to all objects in your scene. Always create a new material. Quote
