Autocad for Model Railroaders

Back a few years ago, I helped broker a deal on the selling of a Model railroad company to a local. We lost touch, ran into one another recently again and I find out now he is a Civil Engineer and an Autocad user. He too has been finding the older plans within published books are wrong. And need simple correction. Curves labeled wrong radaii or incorrect crossing numbers etc.

We need to find a forum, group or some URL that deals with the problems of conversion, and use of Autocad in these circumstances.

Know of one?

I would seriously doubt that such a "group" exists.

So far only "Groops" that have been found are centered upon use of a Non-autodesk software, or trying to sell you one.

Got wind of a four year old one that is not too active right now. Think Acad is beyond their ability or price range. Guess I have to look in to that group also now.

But, as has been mentioned, not doing too good right now in finding any.

And if you found one then what?

In my experience, it has been that Autocad is more precise than some cheap-cad Design-em software and that no one likes to make a comparision other than dollar wise.
