I was wondering how i can set up and and save a personal profile in autocad 2010.

What i mean is: is it possible to save my workspace as a layout wichih includes the positioning og the sidebars, menues, background color etcetera? This would be really usefull since i am using a school computer and everytime i log back in for my class i have to spend 5 minutes to re-set everything back up.

It would be much nicer if i could save the ";layout" on my usb drive and then just load it from there:shock:

Thank you in advance for your replies,

Sfondry

Not sure if this helps but in the lower left corner is your "workspace" And you can create your work space and save it with its own name, and when you log in all you should have to do is click the workspace and choose the one you saved and all your settings should be the same. I know what you mean Im on a network in class as well Just make sure you get the same pc that you stored it in:)

ok i understand that but what if i want to create a brand new profile and then save it? i don't want to accidently modify the default vanilla profile that all the other students use :P

When you name it and the next person logs on they have the options of going to which ever workspace they choose, So I would use mine then before I log out turn it back to Classic/default..Then they won't move your setting in your space. Don't Modify , Create new or Save as.

Does the school "wipe the system clean" at the end of the day? If so, there goes your Profile. Create a new profile and then Export it (file type arg). Save this file on a flash drive. It can be Imported should you use a different computer or the school runs a program that wipes out all traces of student use over the course of the day.

Creating a Profile is covered in the AutoCAD Help files.
