im having a hard time understanding units in autocad. ill be glad if u guys can help me to carifiy this.

  • i drew a 20*20 squre with "decimal" set as the unit type, and centimeters selected in the unit box. then i plotted the squre in the paperspace, in a A4 paper with 1:1 scale.

  • next i measured the dimensions of the squre and realized that it has dimensions in milimeters.( it was 20mm*20mm)

  • how to avoid this ( i wanted to draw the box in centimeters)

Your PS units are probably mm, to match defined paper size, so 1:1 means 1 unit (mm) in PS = 1 unit (cm) in MS, so it's really 1:10. I don't know if you can choose cm for PS units; if not set scale to 10:1
