Not sure if any one has posted this before. Found it when i was looking on how to compare two outputs from 'vla-get-insertpoint'.

Ent* are the quickest methods of all the procedures available to you in LISP, with VL coming a close second. Command line calls will always be the slowest, but they are the most convenient, as they require little extra knowledge to implement.

 

Take a look at page 3 of this for more. [i'd actually recommend reading that whole file, some great info in there.]
