Contour line styles

I'm using Land developement 3, autoCAD 2002. I'm working on a large project (900+ acres) and my contour lines are set to display a "dashed2" style. However it only "dashes" on long straight runs and there are few of those. I've checked every setting I could think of and could only get them to "dash" at an ltscale setting of 10. Useless for a job this size. Is there something I'm missing?:?

Be sure that Plinegen is set to 1. If the contours (plines) have already been created you can edit the Plinegen individually with Pedit > Lt gen. If 2002 has the Multiple option in Pedit, you may want to use that to do them all at one time.

I most often get into trouble when using the centerline linetypes.

But Autocad considers the beginning to any line from the endpoint, as if a PLINE or not. Thus the linetype begins at the endpoint then goes for a while and then "Skips" or hits the next endpoint. It does not consider the whole length of the line as one.

In a contour, you may be going from from one endpoint to the next at too close of interval to be seen. Linetype is correct, the LTSCALE can be altered, but the actual endpoints cannot until you smooth all of them out and make the endpoints further away from one another. You first have to alter the line before it will show up correctly then.
