RyanAtNelco Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Hello, I am having an issue where i have created a dynamic block, and the dynamic properties work on my machine, but when a few other people at my office open, all the dynamic grips are gone. It is odd because they have been able to use other dynamic blocks i have created. I have attached the dynamic block. The grip in the upper right hand corner stretches the rectangle, while keeping the text centered. When you regen, the stretched length updates as well. I just double checked, and it works perfectly on my machine. Any insight into this situation would be very helpful. Thanks! Quote
RyanAtNelco Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 oops! It's attached now! Drawing1.dwg Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 How are you inserting the block? Inserting via toolpallettes or design center is OK. If you insert via the insert command you will need to 'Explode' the block on entry to get rid of the Drawing file and reveal the block. Quote
RyanAtNelco Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 Others can open a drawing i created with those blocks in it, but on thier machine the dynamic grips do not show up. I can open the same drawing, and it works fine. We are all using (and blocks were created) Acad 2009. I cannot get them to work with tool pallettes because they reference themselves. When you insert them from a tool pallette, the length field in the text does not work properly because it is trying to get the length of an object that is not quite created in the drawing yet. The only way i can seem to get them from drawing to drawing is copy with base point, but my main issue is that other people cannot open a drawing with them and have the dynamic properties work right. I have a template set up with these blocks in it, and if people could just open it and save as a new drawing, i can work around the tool pallette issue. I'm going to give the design center thing a try and see how that goes. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Just checking... 'Grips' is set to 1 right! I'm not sure what's causing your colleges problems, but I have fixed your lock for you. You should be able to insert it off a tool pallete now. I have changed the attribute to use a 'Block place holder' field and changed the 'Pre set' value to 'None' Drawing1.dwg Quote
RyanAtNelco Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks Pablo! It now works great from the tool pallette. Quote
