RichyNeale Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Hi, I'm having real issues with CAd2010.. just opening a new file with a set template as I want to create my own template to work from... always seems you have to use a set template. I've tried to edit the given set templates but I can't seem to do that either?? Any ideas...??.....any help would be greatly apprecaited!! Cheers Quote
ReMark Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Open one of the AutoCAD provided templates and edit it. Then do a "Save As" and save it under a different name (but with a dwt file extension). Or is that what you tried to do and it failed? If you are going to save it as a template for future use then AutoCAD needs to know where to find it. One option is to put it in the Template folder. The default path to the AutoCAD 2010 Template folder is this: C:\Documents and Settings\your computer name goes here\local settings\application data\autodesk\autocad 2010\enu\template Another option is to create your own templates folder (call it MyTemplates) and include the path to this folder under Tools > Options > Files > Template Settings. Tiger Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 make your setup, do Save As, select File of Type to DWT and save it to a good location. Go to Options (right-click on the command line) > Files and under Template Settings set in your new search path and new template Quote
