I am having some trouble with hatch pattern scale - when i inherit the properties from an existing hatch, the new hatch appears extremely dense! (so dense that it looks solid until i zoom in).

This is also the case when i try and hatching a new area. What should be a scale of 50 needs to be around 2000.

Has anyone had this problem?

Hi, I think this is because AutoCAD has two identical Hatch pattern files, one for imperial (inches) the other for Metric (mm). The difference in the scale of the hatch patterns being 25.4 (mm to the inch). I'm sure there is a command to change the base units / support files, but cannot think of it off the top of my head. Try checking similar posts for the answer I'm sure its there.

The system variable MEASUREMENT seeems to set metric/imperial line types and hatch patterns.

If MEASUREMENT is set to 0, then AutoCAD uses acad.lin and acad.pat.

If MEASUREMENT is set to 1, then AutoCAD uses acadiso.lin and acadiso.pat.

Linetypes can be changed by reloading the linetype from the correct source and Regenning, but the same does not seem to apply to Hatches - unless anyone else knows different.
