cadnoob Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I apologize if this is somewhere else on the forums, but how do I make house plans such as this in AutoCAD 2010 and if there is some other kind of program that I can use please let me know too. Quote
ReMark Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 It's a 2D floor plan so it should be a snap. I'm assuming the thicker lines may represent 2x6 wall construction while the thinner lines would be 2x4 construction. I'd recommend the use of polylines for the walls. How much experience do you have with AutoCAD 2010? Are you a student? If so, you could download (for free) one of AutoDesk's architectural products. Otherwise, like I said you can draw everything shown in the floor plan using plain vanilla AutoCAD. I've done it myself. The bath fixtures (sinks, toilets, spa, etc.) may be available on line as a download from a manufacturer's website. American Standard is one such manufacturer. May not be an exact match and you'll have to hunt around but there are plenty of other sites to visit and chose from as well. Full-blown window and door blocks can also be found at websites such as Anderson, Pella, and Marvin. Quote
f700es Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I think Kohler has a large selection of 3d/2d blocks as well. Quote
Tankman Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I think Kohler has a large selection of 3d/2d blocks as well. Kohler has a very large list of download *.dwg files available. Fixtures, commodes, tubs, showers, etc. In addition, design help is online; i.e.: I built a large walk in shower with six body sprays. Dimensional information as well as plumbing was readily available. Quote
