How to make animated GIFs

Geobuilder (or anyone),

In the thread "Line Offset" by MrJingles, you replied with what looks like an animated gif. How do you go about making those? I use IrfanView for some things and find it very versatile. I might be able to find something in that program to do this, but I was just wondering if you had a quick thought first.

I have used a shareware program called UnFREEz. The only drawback to it is you need to already have a series of gifs to add. You would need to use IfanView to greate the individual frames, or if you have a timed screen capture program.

Camtasia Studio will make animated gifs of your screen.

I used to do invidual screen captures and use a free gif animator, but that does not record mouse movements.
