Ok guys super new here, just getting into grading and have worked with civil 3d as an extreme novice. But for regular old plain jane AutoCAD 2008, is there any way to do similar volume calcs with contours as done in Civil 3D? Obviously not done with the ease of Civil 3D, Any tutuorials available? I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Are you familiar with the Average End Area method of calculating volumes? This can be done using the areas derived from contours or cross-sections. But it is labor intensive and tedious... your best bet would be to use C3D or similar.

Yes, i have used average end before. Figured there was probably no other way to build a model around contours. Oh well. Thanks!
