Amerrrs Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I want to create furniture pieces using blocks. For example, using a single sofa block to make either a 72 in or 108 in. sofa. I'm hoping I can use blocks so I don't have to create a new block for every different sized sofa. My question is can you (and if so, how) do you create blocks to reflect different dimensions (in inches, specifically)? And if you insert these blocks into drawings of different scalesm, does it stay the same dimensions? For my purpose, I'm in plan view so the blocks would be rather simple, but there are arcs involved. I tried specifying dimensions (in inches) through X & Y during insert, but that didn't work for me. dbroada Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 You are using 2007 so this is simple(!) using dynamic blocks. I'm not sure where to suggest you start but I think a tutorial is available first time to try BEDIT, if not try F1. As for different scales, ALWAYS draw full size in model space. If you need different scales this can be done using paper space and viewport. Again use the search on the site and you will get a lot of advice. Quote
dbroada Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 here is a simple block I did using two sizes. insert the block into a drawing and grab the blue arrow to select either 72 or 108 sizes. The principle can be expanded. I thinkI have saved it in inches Sofa.dwg Quote
