tigerblu Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hi, I am getting a slight ghosting on some of the printed layout pages. I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what .ctb I am using if the layout page has some colour within it then I will get a slight ghosting on every element within the page. If I print the same page using the monochrome.ctb then everything is fine again???? I have also tried using the standard.ctb and I again get the ghosting! Thanks in advance for any help/input on this problem. Quote
Tiger Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Printing to actual paper or PDF? Or both? If it's to paper but not PDf I think I would wearch for the problem at the printers end. Could we get an image of it? Is it 2D or 3D objects? Quote
tigerblu Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 Hi Tiger, Just on a print and in 2d. I will try and get an image scanned and uploaded - although the best way to describe it would be as if there was a slight dropped shadow that seems to have a tinge of colours to it and is slightly furry!!! that now sounds medical!! Thanks Quote
Tiger Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 can you try another printer? Or change the color-cartridges on the printer? Quote
merdrignac Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Have you just installed a new ink cartridge in your printer? If so you could check its alignment. Quote
tigerblu Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 can you try another printer? Or change the color-cartridges on the printer? Tiger - the printer I use now is the HP5500dn and is a colour laser printer, my previous printer was the HP5000 which is a smaller A3 laser but only black & white. I had the same problem on the older one. Maybe it is a HP problem!!! Quote
tigerblu Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 Have you just installed a new ink cartridge in your printer? If so you could check its alignment. No I haven't installed any new cartridges. Maybe the process of printing when colour is involved means the paper gets fed through more time than if it was just a black & white print. I do feel the problem lies with the printer. Thanks Quote
tigerblu Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 Just to let all know it turned out to be a print driver that needed updating! I really thought it was an autocad based problem, after a few posts the opinion was it did seem to lie with the printer. Thanks to all that took the time to help. Quote
