jferree Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 This is probably a very easy question, but I have not really used AutoCAD much at all, and I am just doing some basic editing to a current drawing. When I try to draw a rectangle, it seems to jump to an endpoint that I don't want it to go all the way to. How do I stop it from doing that, and just drawing exactly where the cursor is? I'm using AutoCAD 2010 btw Thanks! Quote
jferree Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 Nope, I just figured out the OSNAPS thing though. Seems to be working better now! Quote
nukecad Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Press the F3 key to toggle your object snap off (and again to turn it back on). Quote
Glen Smith Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 And press F9 to turn off the grid snaps. I hate when that gets turned on and I don't realize it. Glen Quote
ReMark Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Having ORTHO toggled 'on' wouldn't hurt either. Another option is to use the Rectangle command. Quote
Crazy J Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Having ORTHO toggled 'on' wouldn't hurt either. As I am getting better at drawing (at least I think/hope that I am ), I seem to not be using ORTHO as much or at all and seem to be using POLAR and OTRACK all the time instead. Are there any cases where using POLAR and OTRACK don't make sense and using ORTHO would be a better choice? Quote
