This is probably a very easy question, but I have not really used AutoCAD much at all, and I am just doing some basic editing to a current drawing. When I try to draw a rectangle, it seems to jump to an endpoint that I don't want it to go all the way to. How do I stop it from doing that, and just drawing exactly where the cursor is?

I'm using AutoCAD 2010 btw

Thanks!

Nope, I just figured out the OSNAPS thing though. Seems to be working better now!

Press the F3 key to toggle your object snap off (and again to turn it back on).

And press F9 to turn off the grid snaps. I hate when that gets turned on and I don't realize it.

Having ORTHO toggled 'on' wouldn't hurt either. Another option is to use the Rectangle command.

As I am getting better at drawing (at least I think/hope that I am ), I seem to not be using ORTHO as much or at all and seem to be using POLAR and OTRACK all the time instead.

Are there any cases where using POLAR and OTRACK don't make sense and using ORTHO would be a better choice?
