cegrad Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I am having trouble with my multileader text. I have two layers for annotating, one is called "main floor annotation" and the other is called "garage apartment annotation". I am attempting to label things in the "garage apartment annotation" layer. when i try to add a multileader to the "garage apartment annotation" layer, the leader and circle appear in the correct layer, however the text(tag) for the multileader appears in the wrong layer(the main floor annotation layer). i have found out how to explode the multileader to edit the text, however this will become cumbersome if i have to do it for each block (plus i don't know how to recombine them into a block). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help. Quote

alanjt Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 In the block definition, the attribute text is on a layer other than 0. You have to redefine the block. The strange thing is, the circle block is a standard. I'm not sure why the block would have been redefined. Quote
cegrad Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 wow, i knew it was something easy, but it was driving me up the wall trying to figure it out. just so i'm clear, layer 0 just means that whatever layer a block is created in will be assigned to the current layer? Thanks a bunch for the help. Quote

Thanks a bunch for the help. Whatever layer a block is created on, the object(s) within the block will take on all properties of that layer (if object(s) within block are on 0 layer). You're very welcome. Quote
