MarcoW Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 When adding an alignment parameter to my block, it enables me to insert the block perpendicular to an entity. This is very nice and I should have learned that twenty seven years ago ;-) When a block is selected (without a command involved) the blue grips appear. When picking on the insertion point (with alignment parameter on top of it) it allows to move the block to another entity and it again is set perpendicular to the entity in it's new position. This is of great use for me, espescially since there is not even a command needed!. Just clicking and moving. I was wondering if this is only possible with moving. I have tried several things like +CTRL key or in the right click shortcut menu, but I have not found anything to copy the block. So if you allready have one in the drawing, there is no need to insert another block, just clicking an copying. Maybe it is not possible but I may very well miss the boat on this one! Thanks for all the info. Marco. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Don't feel bad, you couldn't create dynamic blocks 27 Years ago! You Should be able to pick on a grip, right click and choose 'Copy': http://thecadsetterout.wordpress.com/2010/02/02/autocad-tip-use-grips/ Or Left click ad then looong left click drag and CTRL to copy whilst dragging: http://www.blog.cadnauseam.com/2010/03/12/quick-and-dirty-clicks-and-drags-in-autocad/ Quote
MarcoW Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Hi Pablo Ferral, Thanks for the reply. The first suggestion does not work. The second does work but is not what I want... I do not want to creat a copy "out of the hand". I want a block to be inserted to its insertion point and using the alignment paramter. But not trhough the only option I know wich is plain inserting... Thanks anyway but I'll keep looking. BTW, Could have been 26 years.. :-) MarcoW. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Hmmm, One other suggestion is to try the 'MULTIPLE' Command? http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/ Quote
