Oxygen454 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Im having troubles getting my shapes from 3D to flat. (2D?) A friend helped me make a bumper with sketch up and exported it to autocad. Now that its in autoCAD, only the top and front/side shapes select and copy to a flat surface on another cad file. The other parts that are on "off" angles copy too but they are either wrong lengths and / or wrong angles. So only the top and front views are giving me accurate parts layout. Am I copying the parts off the 3D view at wrong angles? And if so how do I do it at the proper view angles to copy? Hard for me to explain. If needed, I can post a screen shot. Thx. Quote
iskalipsi Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 try flatshot command or flatten. Post screen shots pls. Quote
Oxygen454 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Hi, thanks for the replay, here is a screen shot. The parts at the bottom and sides (ex. part with the hole in it) copy at weird shapes. They look right but when I measure them, they are smaller than they should be. The parts are correct in Sketch-up so Im thinking Im copy pasting them from the wrong view angle. Quote
Oxygen454 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 I tried those commands but they say unknown. Also when I copy the parts, I do pan to get a more straight on view but Im thinking its still not accurate enough. Quote
Oxygen454 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 I had the images redrawn on sketch up and imported which worked. Not sure of another way of going about doing it. Thanks. Quote
