CLFresh Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hello, Im working on a stream relocation project and i have to print contour lines but also be able to show groundwater runoff lines. Basically what Im asking is how do you print the absolute thinnest possible lines, and what is the thinnest line able to be printed, because i need to make the contour lines as thin as possible because of the extra lines i'll need to add for the groundwater runoff direction lines on top of existing contour lines. I made the lineweight for the contour lines a .05 mm lineweight but it's still too thick. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 0.00 and Default are the only two choices left on the Lineweight list. Why not screen the contours instead? They are on their own layer aren't they? Quote

They are on their own layer aren't they? yes they are their own layers. someone prepared the file for me and put the contours on about 5 different layers. what do you mean screen the contours? and would .00 be noticeably smaller than .05? I'm new to the contour game in any program Quote
ReMark Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Screening will lighten up linework so it appears to be more in the background when compared to a solid black line. The option is available if you edit your plot style file. Quote
CLFresh Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 is there a way to screen just the contour lines? i have them in a light and dark gray color. I want to keep everything dark except these contour lines. i was looking around and someone suggested using the DRAWORDER command and sending the contour lines to the back while screening at 25-50%. would that work in having the contour lines in being lighter than the rest? CLFresh Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 ahh yes i figured it out. i just assigned the contour lines to the 50% screening in the plot screen by clicking the edit and changing the screening on the certain colors:shock:. thanks sooo much!!! Quote
ReMark Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 OK, calm down. It wasn't the greatest suggestion since sliced bread you know. You're entirely welcomed. I'm glad the suggestion worked for you. Quote
rkent Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 The lineweights can be edited in the CTB or STB to allow for a narrower plotted line. Quote
