Jack_O'neill Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Hey Guys...Happy Easter! Maybe I'm just getting old and can't remember, or maybe I dreamed it, but isn't there an easy way to make a line of text bend round a radius? Not at a corner, but like over the top of a circle? I've searched the forums and archives for "radial text" and "circular text" and a couple others, but I'm not finding anything. I find myself needing to do this about once every decade or so and can't remember for the life of me how I did it last time. I found an old old drawing where I had put one letter in place, did a polar array then edited it. Looks kinda clunky doing it that way. Isn't there something better? Got Autocad 2007 and 2010 to play with on this. Thanks!! Quote
Tankman Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Well, you are lost in Arkansas! Good morning! Express>Text>Arc-Aligned Text I haven't used in sometime but, when you need it, you got it. Quote

Do not use it very often, but need to offset the line a certain amount, and the trim to correct length, and have loaded up the proper text style. Then hit the left end of offset line and whammo it is done. It is also standard on late model Autocad systems. Wm. Quote
Tankman Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Plenty of options when using the Express Tool Arc-Aligned Text. Simple enough since Express Tools started shipping with AutoDesk's CAD programs. Useful when needed. Quote

NaeKid Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Thanks for sharing that little tidbit - I have been doing it the old-fashioned way ... by guess and by golly Now I have a better way to do it! Quote
