Marktuc Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I'm a self taught student Question one: how is the line weight turned on and off in model space. Second: I'm trying to scale my dwg in the vp while in mspace. The dwg is a trace over in pic that I imported. Lucky for me I have a known distance that I used with the align function. I drew everything 1:1 in model space. I need a scale of 1":60' and tried the drop down scaling function on the lower right hand corner but the dwg will not stay scaled when I go between pspace and mspace. I feel that I'm going about this the wrong way because when I plot the drawing the scale is all wrong. Thanks Mark Quote
Cad64 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 What version of Autocad are you running? Please update your profile to insure that the answers you receive are applicable to your version. Question 1 Click the LWT button along the bottom of your screen. Alternately, you can type LW, or LINEWEIGHT, at the command line or go to the "Format" menu and select "Lineweight" to open the "Lineweight Settings" dialog and uncheck "Display Lineweight". Question 2 Double click inside your viewport to activate it and then type UCSFOLLOW at the command line and change the setting to 0. Now set your viewport scale and lock your viewport. Quote
Marktuc Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 Thank you very much, I'll give it a try tomorrow. As far as version goes, I've been teaching myself at home with R14. Due to budget cuts the university I attend is not replacing computers as they break down, they replace them with older machines they have in storage, so depending on were you find an empty seat I'm use 2007, 2009, 2010. Will using different version cause a problem? I always save with 2007dwg. Quote
Cad64 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Using different versions at school shouldn't be a big problem as long as you always save to 2007 format, but if you're planning on taking files home to work on them, you will have to remember to save back to R14 format, otherwise you won't be able to open them. But if you get home with your dwg files and realize you forgot to save back to R14, you can always download Autodesk DWG TrueView. Quote
