Slice Plane

Hi, I have an object and I want to apply the slice Plane from Edit polygons, so I position the slice plane on the object, and click slice but nothing happens, it should create like a cut line, across the object, but nothing, am I doing something wrong? help please :unsure:

aaaaah, I was on polygon, when I was suppose to be on border, sorry :)
