Jay Dee Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hi All, Im having a problem plotting a polyline. I have given the line a width of 100 and it is on a colour that should plot thick but when I plot it comes out very faint. I have had this problem before and overcame it but for the life of me cant remember what I done. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Could it be that in your plot configuration file the setting for Screening is less than 100? Quote
Jay Dee Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 Just checked that and it is set to 100. Just out of interest what does that setting actually do? Quote
ReMark Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Screening of an object will make it appear lighter when plotted. What color is assigned to the layer of the object that is being plotted out faintly? Is it grey? Quote
Jay Dee Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 No it is magenta which I have set to 0.7 linetype thickness on my plot settings so it should be plotting out very thick. Quote
ReMark Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 0.7 width in your plot style file. A width of 100 in the drawing itself. Did you also assigned a linetype thickness in the Layer Properties manager as well? I would be willing to test plot your drawing on my HP Designjet 500 if you'd like. It doesn't have to be the entire drawing. Just have to leave enough "sample" lines on different layers to test it. Quote
Jay Dee Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 Remark, Thank you very much for your assistance. Iv tried plotting it again and low and behold it has plotted as intended. I have no idea what caused the problem. Again, thanks for taking the time to help. Quote
ReMark Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 See, just the threat of being plotted on a different machine was enough to scare your drawing into compliance. LOL You're welcomed Jay Dee. I hope the problem does not reoccur. Quote
