sandiegophil Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Hello, Has anyone used the tool mentioned in the title? It is a free styles management program. If you have installed/used it, I would appreciate any comments positive or negative regarding its operation. Thanks for your time! Regards, Phil Quote
alanjt Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I ordered the licenses, but since they are to be over the network, I'm waiting on IT to set it up. However, I realized, upon installation, you are only able to import/export styles/commands. I still find this useful since it's such a pain to take styles from another drawing. Quote

sandiegophil Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 I am still waiting for the serial number to arrive prior to installing........ Quote
sinc Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I haven't tried it myself, but I'm curious about how the Style Import/Export compares to this: http://www.quuxsoft.com/videos/ImportExport_CivilStyles.aspx Quote

I worked at the boss to purchase a few seats, but with times as they are, I couldn't get him to budge. Quote
sinc Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 So far, we have options for Importing/Exporting Styles, renaming Styles (search-and-replace), and comparing styles between two drawings. (That last one currently only compares the Style Names, and won't tell you if the Style has been edited in one drawing compared to the other, but it can still be pretty handy.) We're working on extending and adding to these routines, with some more functionality coming soon. There are also commands for importing/exporting Object Layer settings, but not the Ambient settings or general Command settings. And yeah, last year was nasty. Most people were trying to stretch out the work they had, rather than work faster. Things are still bad, but they seem to be a bit better for a lot of people. Or at least, things seem to be leveling off, and are no longer in free-fall, like they were last year, so hopefully we're at or near the bottom. Quote
