Need help with finishing a model....

i need some help on finishing my 3d model. i am trying to create a compressor housing for a turbo (google it), on inventor. The hard part is that as the circular tube part goes around the center it gets smaller right now the easiest way i have of doing it, is the only way i can think of but i can t get it to get smaller as it goes around. i was using the coil feature....but when i create the feature it is one size all the way around. The next idea i had is really time consuming and hard, but i figured i could make many sketches around the center piece on different planes, and the sketches would go in a circle and the circles would get smaller on each different plane, and then i would just loft it around. Does anyone have any easier way(s) of doing this?

Open your file.

Find the red End of Part marker in the browser.

Drag the EOP to the top of the browser hidding all features in the graphics window.

Save the file.

In Windows Explorer right click on the filename and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Attach the resulting *.zip file here.

You can change the coil feature to spiral. This should give you a decreasing radius.

What type of compressor housing do you want to model and for what. You can loft from a circle to a point along a path and it will taper down. Obviously thats a bit extreme but a path with two circles(or whatever shape) would do just fine. Here are some pics of one of my turbos that might help for references.

Well right now i'm in high school and i'm doing it for a project in my drafting class, so i decided to try to do an assembly of a gerrett42 turbo and i got the turbines and bearing housing done but i still need to do the compressor and exhaust housing and right now i'm working on the compressor housing... right now im experimenting with the lofting but its getting time consuming so im gonna have to try a new way. i want to practice with the coil feature and possible might finish the part with the coil feature if i can figure it out....heres the turbo....?ui=2&ik=3a316e3852&view=att&th=1281c2ad8add5e41&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw ?ui=2&ik=3a316e3852&view=att&th=1281c2ad8add5e41&attid=0.0&disp=inline&zw

I could be wrong but i believe you will have an issue with the coil feature if you try to make it intersect itself. I think a loft, or a sweep with a taper would be the way to go.
